RED BULL AIR RACE: LONDON
The Red Bull Air Race is an exciting competition in which the world’s most talented pilots go up against each other in a race based on speed, precision and skill. The competition features a dynamic new discipline of flying called ‘air racing’ where the objective is to navigate a challenging obstacle course in the sky, in the fastest time possible. Pilots fly individually against the clock and have to complete tight turns through a slalom course consisting of specially designed pylons called ‘air gates’. See the London stage of an unforgettable race.

The race was conceived in the Red Bull sports think-tank and came from an idea to merge flying with the most exciting elements of motor racing. The aim was to develop a brand new aviation race that would challenge the ability of the world’s best pilots, creating a race in the sky that was not simply about speed, but also skill. The answer was to build a specially designed obstacle course which the pilots would navigate at high speeds.

DOCTOR WHO
Doctor Who (David Tennant) is a ‘time lord’ from the planet Gallifrey and is a mere 903 years old. If there’s danger, Doctor Who is the man who is going to save your life – and that of everyone on your planet. In this episode Catherine Tate, best known on television for her comedy sketch show, returns as the Doctor’s new companion, Donna Noble. In a previous episode Donna mysteriously vanished as she prepared to marry her boyfriend. Now she reappears, much to her astonishment, in the Tardis with the Doctor.

TORCHWOOD
John Barrowman stars as time-traveller Captain Jack Harkness in this hugely successful Doctor Who spin-off series. In this episode, an old cinema re-opens and past horrors emerge to stalk the streets of Cardiff. As bodies are found, somewhere between life and death, Torchwood must act fast. Rick records a short appeal video for a charity helping victims of ‘HUCC’, a disease that causes victims to burst into flames. The appeal is later revealed to be a hoax and Rick realises he is the victim of a hidden-camera show. Marty is offended when Rick claims he writes all his own jokes in order to impress a man. A client of Mel’s records a television pilot for a chat show and Rick is her guest.

THE IT CROWD*

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS
The legendary comedy series starring Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley as Eddie and Patsy, two self-involved social climbers who seem to refer to everyone else as either ‘sweetie’ or ‘darling’. The exploits of their hilarious quest to live the high life made the series a TV favourite in the 1990s, with actress Julia Sawalha playing Eddie’s longsuffering and bookish daughter, Saffy.

In this episode Eddie and Patsy head to the Big Apple. In theory their quest is to track down Eddie’s estranged son, but there are also more important things to take care of while in the United States, such as enjoying the various delights of New York Fashion Week.

FRIENDS
In this Thanksgiving episode, special guest star Brad Pitt plays Will, Monica’s high school friend who was the only student fatter than Monica. She invites him to Thanksgiving dinner with the gang, unaware that he isn’t exactly fond of Rachel. Meanwhile, Chandler and Phoebe pretend to be enthralled with a televised football game in order to avoid helping Monica in the kitchen. And Joey vows to devour the entire turkey single-handedly.

REALITY

DRAGONS’ DEN
‘The dragons’, the multi millionaire investors, are back on scorching form in this dramatic debut to the new series. Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden, Richard Farleigh, Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones are all worth millions and they’ve all built their own business empires from scratch. Now they’re ready to invest their own money in the best business ideas or inventions.

Members of the public venture into the den to demonstrate their inventions and answer questions about them, hoping to win a contract with some or all of ‘the dragons’ to put their invention into production. Over the series’ history the ideas put to the distinguished judges have ranged from a new way to cook an egg, to a machine to sterilise dirty trainers. But after an aggressive question and answer session with ‘the dragons’, many a contestant has left empty-handed – and even in tears.

COME DINE WITH ME
In a celebrity special of the dinner party challenge, comedian David Quantick takes his turn in the kitchen. He prepares a meal for fellow contestants fashion designer Ben de Lisi, TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson, singer Mica Paris and comic actress Helen Lederer. But who will be the winner? Paris has recruited a very attractive young waiter in an attempt to sway the vote her way. And in a different episode flight attendant Sam Hughes prepares chicken wrapped in pancetta, but struggles to cook and entertain at the same time. Her guests amuse themselves by consuming alcohol – with predictable results.

RUSSIA: JONATHAN DIMBLEBY
Jonathan Dimbleby travels on television’s first comprehensive documentary journey through the vast and varied landscapes of Russia. In this episode, he meets various interesting locals, visits St Petersburg and receives a good pummelling from a hefty masseur.

Dimbleby began his career as a television and radio reporter for BBC Bristol in 1969, moving on to Radio 4’s The World At One in 1970. He joined Thames Television in 1972. He currently presents Jonathan Dimbleby, ITV’s weekly flagship political programme. In 1994 he wrote and presented the documentary on the Prince of Wales. In 1997 the BBC screened The Last Governor, his series on the final five years of British rule in Hong Kong and he published a book of the same name. More recently he has also written and presented TV programmes about Ethiopia and Kosovo.

LOUIS THEROUX: BEHIND BARS*
The award-winning Louis Theroux goes behind the bars of one of America’s most notorious prisons, San Quentin. Once home to the infamous Charles Manson, this 6,000 strong penitentiary is full of the most dangerous criminals in the US. He meets and greets some of the most interesting inmates, with some compelling results.

Theroux is known for his investigative series for BBC2. His unique faux naive style separates him from his colleagues. His major television series have included When Louis Met and Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends.

ASHES TO ASHES*
The sequel to the popular Life On Mars. When DCI Alex Drake is shot and lands in 1981, she comes face-to-face with DCI Gene Hunt, the relic of old-fashioned policing she read about in Sam Tyler’s reports. Alex thinks she is in a coma and needs Hunt’s help to go after Layton, the man who shot her in 2008. She is confident she knows the rules of the game, but with no contact from the outside world, Alex has to contend with a terrifying possibility.

HOTEL BABYLON*
The hit BBC series is a tantalising and seductive insight into the sexy world of the luxury hotel industry. General Manager Charlie is likeable and charming, and possesses impressive moral standards, which is interesting considering his complex past. In this episode, Charlie is starting to realise the pressure of managing a five-star hotel. With head office on his back, he is left to make a difficult decision to secure the extra finance he needs.

MY NAME IS EARL*
The hit US series about a man trying to make up for the way he lived his life in the past. Earl decides he has to make amends for stealing a laptop by returning it to its owner, a sexy female university professor. She and Earl find themselves attracted to each other and Randy finds himself attracted to a beerdrinking fraternity on campus. Another funny episode that is not to be missed.
