London bites: food festival
Dine your way through London this month
The London Restaurant Festival has just kicked off with more than 800 restaurant special menus, and a virtual all-you-can-eat buffet of special events. Here’s our pick of the menu:
* The fabulously delish (and secretly very professional) Savoy Truffle Supperclub is relocating from its monthly home in Blackheath to offer a five-course fine-dining menu at a secret pop-up location in Central London 13-17 October. The cost is £65 per head, including wine and cocktails. This will be a sell-out, so book fast.
* For the ultimate drive-through experience, sign up for a Routemaster Gourmet Odysseys in Mayfair, Piccadilly, Belgravia and Park Lane. You’ll eat a starter at one restaurant, main at the second, then dessert at the third, meeting the restaurant’s chefs en route.
* The retro-Airstream pop-up Street Kitchen will be serving gourmet goodies in Covent Garden and Old Spitalfields Market 14-18 October. See our piece about it, The Poshest Food Van in Town.
