Forget Manolos or Jimmy Choos, the latest shoes to covet are dripping in diamonds

FORGET MANOLOS OR JIMMY CHOOS; the latest shoes to covet are dripping in diamonds, even though they are by a lesser-known design name. Taking inspiration from the delicate, fluted arum lily, British designer Christopher Michael Shellis has created the world’s first stiletto made from gold and diamonds. Each pair of Eternal Diamond stilettos is lavishly encrusted with 2,200 brilliant-cut diamonds and handcrafted from solid gold by bespoke jewellers the House of Borgezie.

After three years in the making and five patent-pending designs, Shellis is convinced this is every woman’s fantasy footwear: “I reinvented the classical stiletto. The result is not so much a shoe, but a fine piece of jewellery.” But when it comes to glitzy, extravagantly bling heels, there are no half measures: most women will either love or loathe them, but few would be able to resist.

Featuring a stunning 30 carats, the Eternal Diamond Stiletto will set you back at least £100,000. Shocked? But this is not merely meant to be a fashion investment that lasts a lifetime.

The design house offers the shoes with a 1,000-year guarantee. These sparklers could be turning heads for centuries – empires have lasted less time.
