The queen of hair colour brings out her first travel kit this season. As befits one of the fashionistas’ favourites, the Jo Hansford bag is a cut above the rest with its faux snakeskin finish. It can double up as a clutch in the evening once you’ve taken out the – generously sized for travel at 100ml – Everyday shampoo and conditioner. £27.50, www.johansford.com

Philip Kingsley, or the hair doctor as he is known, has created a set to combat bad hair days. Available in five different combinations (for example, fine hair, chemically processed or flaky scalps) the Jet Set collections come in a clear pouch and are reasonably priced for the quality. A good introduction to the brand. £19; www.philipkingsley.com

Vintage lovers will snap up the Berkeley Square Cosmetics Company’s 1920s Fig and Cherry Travel Set. It’s the first time that they’ve launched a travel collection – the bottles are a hefty 100ml which means they will more than see you through a long summer holiday. But the original 1920s drawings on the bottles mean that you may prefer to show them off at home instead. £7.95, www.bsquare.co.uk

Ren, which describes itself as a ‘clean’ range – it is practically organic – launches its first travel kit this season. Frequent flyers will find the Dry Skin Regime Kit particularly helpful; it combats dehydration without leaving a greasy residue. £23; www.renskincare.com

Frenchwomen swear by Anne Semonin, whose mini doses of masks, called Daily Musts, look more like vitamin supplements than cutting-edge skincare treatments. The set of four (10g each) includes gel, mineral, cream and exfoliating masks. Great to pep up skin after flights or in hotels. £22; www.annesemonin.com

You can’t buy the Miller Harris amenity kit – it’s that exclusive.

The specially prepared combo has been created specifically for bmi Business Class passengers (see p83) using the English fragrance house’s Citron Citron scent – which is available from www.millerharris.com

Derived from organically grown, hand-pressed olive oil from California’s Napa Valley, this natural range from Olivina is paraben-free and so ideal for dry or sensitive skins. The fresh olive scent is unusual; it’s quite grassy and hence is unisex. Along with the dinky body washes, handcream and organic cotton wash cloth, the lip balm is exclusive to the set. £27.95, www.united-perfumes.com
