KINDLE DX
With Apple finally moving into the notebook world with the iPad, long-time (at least in this field) player Amazon comes back stronger with the Kindle DX. Whereas the original Kindle was aimed at capturing the emerging e-book market, the DX, with its 16-level E Ink screen, is hoping to become a natural home for newspapers and magazines. However, the display is black and white-only, meaning that it’s papers rather than mags that will work best. Like the iPad, you’ll be able to download your books and publications wirelessly, and at only 7mm thick, it’s certainly svelte enough to fit in your cabin luggage. Not essential by any means, but possibly a serious contender to Apple’s flagship device. $489, www.amazon.com 3/5
KNOMO LAPTOP CASE
Style and functionality for female executives come together in Knomo’s slim Teeli bag which has side pockets for easy access to your passport. Also in red, black, brown and pink. £80, www.knomo.com 4/5
KLIPSCH IMAGE X10I HEADPHONES
They may be tiny, but these headphones are exceptionally mighty. Weighing less than 10g, each bud slips deep into your ear courtesy of a slimline aluminum body and silicone nub. Unlike cheaper in-ear headphones, the Images provide separation between all the frequencies – meaning your MP3s will sound as good as they possibly can. Sure, they’re expensive, but when you’ve invested a couple of hundred quid on an iPhone, you owe it to yourself to get the best sound you can from it. Special. £230, www.klipsch.com 5/5
NAOTO FUKASAWA T004 WATCH
Minimalism is an admirable quality in a wristwatch, which means that this beautiful bit of Seiko-manufactured horography should be an automatic choice for the ultra-tidy designer in your life. Thanks to its clever design, there’s no need for any strap pins so the tough stainless-steel case is less likely to fall off. £349, www.twentytwentyone.com 4/5
