Mount Street bargains

Marc Jacobs’ £1 shop

SwimmingBagsBack in May Voyager’s editor, Robina Dam, wrote about Mount Street, London’s hottest shopping destination. I was a little put off by the Ferraris and general West London glitz. Well, until I discovered quite how cheap the Marc by Marc Jacobs store was. As other commentators noted when it opened this spring, the shop is practically a one pound store. More accurately, the Marc shop has a high turnover of stock and cuts prices heavily on their older lines; 80%-90% off is not an uncommon discount. These colourful mesh bags only cost £1 each. I bought a bunch. One went to Robina, in return for the tip off and I’m saving the rest for Christmas presents. If you’re keen to take advantage of these and other bargains when you’re next in London, head over there. The Marc shop is on the junction with South Audley Street; its address is 56 South Audley St.
