First Day of the Rest of your Life

Remi Bezancon’s new quirky French film

newfrenchfamily

Hot tip for summer flick: The First Day of the Rest of Your Life (Le premier jour du reste de ta vie) by Remi Bezançon is the best film I’ve seen so far this year.

Touted as a story about a French family with its ups-and-downs over 15 years seem fairly predictable.

But after watching it, I realise why it’s won 3 Cesar awards and will have the gala screening at Edinburgh’s International Film Festival this summer. When you see it, you’ll know what I mean.

Any other films that caught you by surprise recently?
