James Wong scores at the Chelsea Flower Show
The presenter of Grow Your Own Drugs shows me his wares at the Chelsea Flower Show
He grows his drugs for the BBC. Now hotshot gardener (or ethno-botanist) James Wong fresh from his success with his sensationally named TV series Grow Your Own Drugs on BBC 2 has also scored elsewhere. His design for the Chelsea Flower Show, set up by Indoor Garden Design, got the silver prize. No wonder James was on a high, as it were. The moment we met, he said: “Here, try one of these,” offering me what looked like a flower bud. “Just don’t eat the whole thing, not even half.” A small nibble and my tongue suddenly went numb.
James promises it was just a relation to the chamomile flower; I’m not convinced, though it may explain why I found myself agreeing to a gardening column in Voyager.
Thoughts?
