American skincare giant Jergens lands

Britain’s top make-up artist Ruby Hammer unveils the new range

Ruby Hammer

As one of Britain’s leading celebrity make-up artists, Ruby Hammer knows a thing or three about looking good when you travel — or making others look good for that matter. More often than not, she’ll step off the place and head straight to a studio where she has the job of camouflaging supermodels’ imperfections for lavish photo shoots armed with her trusty make-up bag.

“Sometimes these girls have just stepped off the red-eye flight and their skin is dehydrated from the long flight. I need something that can work fast to get them looking good for the camera,” says Hammer, speaking at a beauty event in central London last week.

“And although my make-up kit always stays with me, when I go to America I’ve been stocking up on huge Jergens skincare bottles which no-one knows about over in the UK.”

Jergens? She’s right; it’s not a label known over here. But the American supersized skincare brand is coming to a store near you at the end of this month. And for the record: Ruby Hammer, who had also stepped off a flight, showed off perfectly moisturised skin. No wonder Jergens snapped her up as their UK brand ambassador.
Jergens new Naturals Range is available at Superdrug stores nationwide.
