SPECIAL | JEDDAH PROGRAMMING
To honour our travellers making the pilgrimage to Mecca this year, bmi flights to and from Jeddah will offer a special programming selection, well suited to such a
voyage
- OUTBOUND flights will screen the a listings
throughout the flight, though there are exceptions: - Channel 3: on outbound flights you can view Essabet el Dr Omar (94 mins, PG), a musical starring Mustafa Qamar as the eponymous psychiatrist, who
tries modern methods on his patients with hilarious results. Yet love strikes the doctor when he treats a girl obsessed with theft. - Channel 5: on outbound flights you can see Taimour Wa Shafi’aa (98 mins, PG), a thriller/romance following the relationship between a police trainee
and a government minister. - Channel 8: on outbound flights our Egyptian comedy, fiMahatat Maser will be preceded by a documentary examining Al Hajj (30 mins, U). This
programme not only covers the practice of the Muslim pilgrimage but the story of some three million pilgrims who converge in Mecca annually to carry out theironce-in-a-lifetime, holy duty.
- Channel 10: on outbound flights, you may enjoy Abdo Mawasem (105 mins, PG); Muhammed Lutfy plays Abdo, a sporadically employed young man who
keeps hope alive by training for his favourite sport – boxing. Yet will Abdo become a true champion? - INBOUND flights will screen the a listings
throughout the flight, though there are exceptions: - Channel 1: on inbound flights catch the suspenseful crime thriller, Al Shabah (101 mins, PG), in which a man wrongly convicted of murder and
suffering from serious bout of memory loss must prove his innocence by tracking down the man who really committed the crime. - Channel 7: on inbound flights look out for the Egyptian kitchen sink drama, Awkat Faragh (95 mins, PG), which translates as ‘Free Times’. This gritty,
hard-hitting film examines the trials and temptations facing the youth of today. Despite its low budget, Awkat Faragh was a palpable hit, when it was first
released in 2006. - Channel 11: On inbound flights you can enjoy our Egyptian crime comedy, Wesh Ejram (105 mins, PG), focusing on the poorly educated, unemployed
computer graduate, Taha. When Taha’s father loses his job at a recently privatised factory, his son tries to take revenge. Unfortunately, this results in Taha being
kidnapped by a criminal gang. Neither his mother nor his girlfriend have any means to raise the ransom. What will become of hapless Taha?
