Paying for childcare during family holidays can be prohibitively expensive. This month
Coastline rental villas near Palma, Mallorca (including Villa Bonnix, pictured) are offering
‘10 days for the price of five’ for private nanny hire. “Our nannies have the experience
and qualifications to ensure that your mind is at rest while
you are away,” says the company’s childcare
manager, Rachael Waite. “And they make
wicked sandcastles!” www.coastline.co.uk

A walk in the park
If you’re in Copenhagen this month, make the most
of the gentler autumn sunshine and visit the famous
Tivoli gardens and theme park. First Hotel Vesterbro is
on the same street as Tivolo, Vesterbrogade, and is one
of the city’s more stylish mid-price hotels, with the
kind of chic, neutral style that the Scandinavians have
perfected. You can catch the New York City Ballet at
Tivoli’s concert hall from 1-6 September.

Good times, bad times
Just an hour from Zurich
airport, you’ll find the
tranquil Grand Resort Bad
Ragaz, which includes the
Grand Hotel Quellenhof and
Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz. This
month the resort opens its
newly expanded spa, kitted
out with sauna, steam bath,
whirlpool baths, massage
tables and 12 private
treatment rooms, with more
to come next spring. The spa
already has a sports pool
(pictured), and incorporates
a medicinal ‘wellness centre’
in the Swiss tradition of
relaxation cures in the
mountain air. Take a deep
breath now… www.resortragaz.ch
