Take me to Tbilisi
Once the Ministry of Agriculture, an historic building
in the city centre of Tbilisi, Georgia, will reopen early
in 2010 as the city’s first InterContinental Hotel.
The company says the five-star destination, with
self-contained apartments and a business centre, is a
response to rising global traffic to the Georgian capital.

Bodes well
The small but steady
expansion of the Abode
hotel chain continues apace,
with a new branch opening
in Manchester this month,
in the 19th-century Rossetti building. Existing hotels,
in destinations including Glasgow, merge the design
element with cosiness – think sinking your feet into
Paul Smith-style stripy carpets.
