Avalon Spa

A new concept in leisure has just hit Copenhagen –
the gastro-spa. As well as offering the usual maze of
saunas and jacuzzis and a menu of face and body
treatments, the Avalon serves light and nutritious
dishes it bills as “spa cuisine”. Meals include gazpacho,
sandwiches on wholemeal bread, super-healthy
shredded salads (such as beetroot, apple, carrot, fennel
and walnut), “destress” or “wellness” smoothies and
fruit plates. All very healthy… but you may still be
hungry afterwards.

OLD FAVOURITE IN… DAMMAM, SAUDI ARABIA
Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium

If you’re fl ying to one of bmi’s newest destinations,
Dammam, you can catch major football matches
at the Prince Mohamed bin Fahd Stadium. The
35,000-seat facility was built in 1973 and is
a multi-purpose arena, but football certainly
dominates the action. The Saudi Arabian team
clearly feel confi dent when they play at home:
so far this year they’ve beaten the teams of both
Gambia (3-0) and Syria (2-1) at recent matches
played here.
