SECRET AGENT

BOND IS BACK, with Daniel Craig stepping into those famous 007 shoes for the first time in Casino Royale, which will be on general release worldwide from 17 November.

The film is based on Ian Fleming’s first novel about the famous secret agent. These original exploits were published as comic strips in the Daily Express, and are being republished so fans can enjoy them again. Casino Royale, Ian Fleming, Titan Books (£10.99)

FRUIT OF THE GODS

POMEGRANATE COMES WITH A PLETHORA OF HEALTH BENEFITS, WHETHER YOU DRINK IT OR BATHE IN IT

IT’S BEEN DESCRIBED as the fruit of the gods, and in the ancient world, the pomegranate was also a symbol of fertility. So it’s hardly surprising that it has been pounced upon by trend-setters. Below are our favourite pomegranate-inspired products.

DRINK IT

With Pomegreat, the juice’s name says it all. New to the range is Pomegreat 100 (£3.29), a 100%, fresh juice of 10 pomegranates, imported from Maharashtra (Mumbai is the states’s capital) in India. Visit www..pomegreat.com for stockists.

Or try Rubicon’s new sparkling pomegranate drink (£0.45), which contains polyphenols, a natural antioxidant, if you want a health kick on the move.

FACE IT

The skincare company Rodial was among the first to base its range upon pomegranate, harking back to Greek traditions. Its founder, Maria Hatzistefanis, has developed her luxury range to use the best of natural ingredients merged with the very latest technological advances. The latest power-product is the SPF18 Wrinkle Smoother (£98), which replaces serums, anti-ageing moisturisers and sunscreen with this convenient all-in-one. Available from Harrods, Space NK or www.rodial.co.uk

THE FRUIT WAS A SYMBOL OF FERTILITY

SPRITZ IT

Pomegranate Noir is a spicy, wintry scent from Jo Malone with notes of pepper and patchouli. It starts at £30 for the 30ml bottle, which is available from www..jomalone.com. When ordered as a gift, it comes in a lavish be-ribboned giftbox filled with tissue.

SMEAR AND WALLOW IN IT

Designed to be used by both men and women, Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir scent has been extended to a bath oil (£38) and rich body crème (£44).

Molton Brown’s Rosé Granati line uses extract of Moroccan pomegranate in their handwashes and lotions (£14 each). For stockists, see www..moltonbrown.co.uk or call +44 (0)808 178 1188.

The luxury bathcare range MOR has been building up a fan base among the fashion crowd globally. Their pomegranate range includes a hand and body balm but the star of the range is the Body Scrub (£19).

It has a fresh, fruity aroma and the sparkling mica minerals leave your skin with a sheen. Order online at www.beauty-republic.com or call +44 (0)870 041 043.
