JEWELLERY DESIGNER ELIZABETH GALTON BECAME THE DARLING OF THE CATWALKS WITH HER STUNNING ORCHID COUTURE PIECES. HER LATEST READY-TO-WEAR DESIGNS LOOK SET TO WIN HER EVEN MORE FANS

All that glitters: Elizabeth’s C.V.

Within just a few months of graduating from the Royal College of Art (RCA) in 2000, Elizabeth was snapped up to work on projects for Mercedes Benz and Fenwicks in London. More high-profile commissions swiftly followed: Harvey Nichols, Liberty’s and exhibitions in leading galleries throughout Europe. In 2004, one of her designs was sent down the catwalk as the showpiece of Swarovski’s New York ‘Runway Rocks’ show. Last year, she appeared on hit BBC 2 show Dragon’s Den to pitch her idea for a more affordable, ready-to-wear collection and succeeded in securing over £100,000 to help turn her idea into a reality. Her designs are now stocked worldwide, from Australia and Hong Kong to the US and UK. She has since bought out the ‘dragon’ who originally invested and recently joined forces with Cool Diamonds to produce three new collections. Still aged just 29, Elizabeth is currently shortlisted for British Jewellery Designer of the Year. www.elizabethgalton.com

“It’s hugely flattering to have been nominated alongside such established names for the British Jewellery Designer of the Year”

“At the RCA we were always encouraged to push the boundaries of perceived notions of jewellery. And I knew that in order to get attention from the press and corporate clients, I had to do something really bold”
