THE LATEST DESIGNS IN MOBILE, AUDIO AND VISUAL TECHNOLOGY

KEF KHT3005 speaker set
Audio specialist, KEF, is one of the few British technology companies, and they’re ahead in the field having created egg-shaped speakers, which have superlative sound reproduction capabilities. This latest set has four Uni-Q technology satellite speakers, one centre speaker and a high-efficiency subwoofer, and all are designed to sound as good as they look. £1,000 (€1,453), www.kef.com

Casio EXILIM EX-Z1000
How Casio squeezes so much shooting power into such a lean camera is beyond us, but the Exilim digital camera fits in a massive 10.1mp. A large 2.8-inch Super Bright LCD screen occupies most of the back, while the front is taken up with a three times optical zoom lens. Along with the good-looking camera and powerful resolution, you also get anti-blur technology to help with hand wobbles and 8MB internal memory – as well as the SD card slot for more storage. £380 (€552), www.casio.co.uk

SONY ERICSSON W710 WALKMAN
Sony Ericsson’s Walkman-branded mobiles just had a sporty addition. This clamshell is designed with a motion sensor and fitness applications that measure your running speed, distance and time, or work as a step counter. Plus it’s also a Walkman that stores up to 470 tunes on the 512MB Memory Stick (can be upgraded) and it has an FM radio. £119, www.sonyericsson.com

Shure E500 Sound Isolating Headphones

There’s nothing more annoying than hearing other people’s music, which is why these are a must. The ‘push-to-hear’ accessory allows you to switch between hearing some outside sound and total aural lockdown. £419 (€609), push-to-hear accessory £39 (€57).
